Last modified: November 25, 2019

Windows 10 Education is available for new Windows 10 installs and for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 upgrades. Windows 10 Education is available for home use through the http://downloads.ou.edu website. This edition of Windows is $9.95 for current OU faculty and staff. Downloading the software through the website will provide one a Windows 10 Education Product Key. In addition, a Windows 10 Education installation ISO is also available for select versions of Windows upgrades.

Why Use Windows 10 Education?

Windows 10 Education is similar to Windows 10 Enterprise. It includes many of the same features but it is more geared towards the academic environment. Windows 10 Education features several options not found in Windows 10 Home:

  • Domain Joining. You can connect to the OU Sooner Domain to use network files, servers and printers.
  • Enhanced encryption. Enhanced security with BitLocker data encryption and protection.
  • Remote Desktop. Treat your computer as both a client and host for remote connections.
  • Windows To Go. Boot and run installers from flash and external disk drives.

If you wish to install Windows 10 Education, please see the below guide for what is available:
