If you live in the OU residence halls and attempt to “cast” to a device through the OU wireless network, you may experience issues. Currently some buildings on South Campus where devices that “cast” (e.g. AirPlay, AirPrint, or Google products like Chromecast, Google Mini, Google Home) are unable to communicate with – or even be seen by – phones, laptops, tablets, or any other similar device via our wireless network. Casting devices may connect to the network, but they will not communicate with other wireless devices. Our Network team is currently working with the vendor on a solution, but unfortunately there is no timeline for a fix. The issue began in early February, and we are unsure when it will be resolved. It is not unique to OU, as it is affecting several universities throughout the US.
