Cox Mini Box Setup and Troubleshooting

OU Residence Halls have the option for cable TV provided by Cox Communications and their Mini Box service. If you experience trouble with your cable TV, please try the troubleshooting below:

  1. Make sure your TV is on correct input.
    • Coax, channel 3
    • HDMI 1,2,3
  2. Make sure Cox Mini Box green light is solid.
    • If blinking Mini Box has no signal
    • If solid Mini Box has signal
  3. Make sure TV remote is programmed.
    • Instruction guides for remote programming can be found here.
    • Make sure you are using the correct remote, stickers are also provided to mark apartment/tower room number-letter. Only one remote can be programmed per box and will only work for that box.
  4. Make sure the Mini Box is plugged in.
  5. If initial trouble shooting processes fail, please submit a work order to or call 405-325-4421.
